Earth Day isn't a campaign for us. It's a reminder.
A reminder of where BEJOU comes from, what it's built on, and why every product we make starts with the same question: what did the earth already figure out?
This year, we went back to Colombia to answer it.
Why Colombia?
Colombia is one of the most biodiverse countries on the planet. It has cloud forests, páramos, coastlines, and valleys each one producing plants, botanicals, and ingredients that have been healing skin long before the skincare industry had a name for it.
That's not a marketing angle. That's the foundation.
When we talk about ingredients rooted in nature, we mean plants that grow in specific altitudes, in specific soils, under specific conditions that can't be replicated in a lab. Colombia has them. And that's why we keep going back.
What Earth Day actually means in skincare:
Most brands acknowledge Earth Day with a green post and a recycling message. We think the real conversation is deeper than that.
True sustainability in skincare starts at the ingredient level. It's asking where something comes from, how it was harvested, what impact that process has on the land and the communities around it. It's choosing ingredients because they work and because the way they're sourced doesn't cost the earth more than it gives back.
Every formula we create at BEJOU goes through that filter. Not just: does this work for your skin? But: does this respect where it came from?
Nature already knows:

What this trip reminded us:
Standing in Colombia surrounded by that landscape, that green, that air it's impossible to think about beauty as something separate from the natural world. It comes from it. It always has.
Your skin is part of nature too. It responds to what's real. It recognizes plants, minerals, and botanicals in a way it never quite responds to synthetic substitutes.
